CALA Homes Part Exchange Helps Couple Secure Move to Cranleigh

When Alan and Gillian Copeman found their perfect home at CALA's Amlets Place development in Cranleigh, they were quick to make the most of the added benefits that come with purchasing a CALA property.  As their previous home was not selling as quickly as expected on the open market, the couple began looking for a stress free route to securing their move.

Alan explains: "we lived in an older property in Epsom Downs and had not really considered moving into a new build home; it was only when Gillian began to take an interest in a number of new developments nearby that she encouraged me to take a look around some other developers' show homes.  I was quite impressed with the homes and it certainly made me think about how a new build could be an option for us, however I wasn't blown away by the completed developments by the same builders as they were not very spacious.  We visited CALA Homes' Amlets Place around this time too and really liked the layout of the site, but or house was not yet on the market so we didn't enquire further at that stage".

Once their house was on the market, Alan and Gillian revisited Amlets Place, their favourite of the new developments they saw and the four bedroom show home, where they were immediately attracted to the layout and design of the home.  Alan continues: "when we visited the show home we could immediately see why CALA Homes pitch themselves about the other local developers.  The standard of the homes was amazing and I particularly liked the separate dining room and the fact that nearly every room had more than one window.  It was so light and the development felt so much more spacious than those we'd seen before - it was at this stage that we felt that Amlets Place could be right for us."

Alan said: "initially we did not consider Part Exchange, thinking our home would sell fine on the housing market.  When the house did not sell as quickly as expected the Part Exchange service offered by CALA presented an attractive option, as it provided a strong degree of certainty for our move.  This certainly proved the case and looking back it was a good way to move, as we could gradually move all our possessions into our new home over a two week period".

Now in their new home, retired Alan and part time receptionist Gillian, have begun to take advantage of the stunning surroundings that Cranleigh has to offer.  Alan said "I don't think I had ever been to Cranleigh before visiting Amlets Place, but many friends had told us what a lovely village it is - and they weren't wrong.  I enjoy bike riding and Cranleigh provides the perfect setting for this and we also look after our grandchildren two days a week.  The house is the perfect size to accommodate myself and Gillian, with that added bit of room for when the grandchildren come to stay - which was really important to us.  We have had a few walks through the village and we feel it has a great balance of everything, it feels rural whilst still having all the necessary amenities close by.  Although we've only been here a short time, we already feel like this is the perfect place to call home and I know we will be very happy on the development and in the village".
